”Be not afraid of being called unfashionable..” – Adolph Loos

Finnish philosopher Georg Henrik von Wright, who held the chair after Ludwig Wittgenstein at Cambridge and was an important friend of his, chocked the Western World in the 1990-ties by questioning its very foundation: the idea of Progress as absolute and irrefutable truth for modus operandi. Before many others he dared to think an uncomfortable thought to its consequential end and draw lucid conclusions for our daily life and current conditions. This is a reflection on how his thinking could, if we were open enough, have repercussions on our creative thought and our handling of architecture.
