The practice has always had an interest and involvement with teaching.Ger Carty has been a constituent member of the Board of Advisors to the New School of Architecture at UL Limerick.

He has worked at this practice since 1993 where he has contributed to the ideas, ethos and management of the practice. Grafton Architects is a Dublin based practice with a strong national and international profile. The work of the practice has been exhibited and published widely.
The practice has received numerous awards and has been premiated in a number of national and international competitions. In 2008 the practice was awarded the World Architecture Prize for a significant extension to the University of Bocconi in Milan, Italy. The practice has since won competitions for the design of a new extension to house the School of Economics at the University of Toulouse, France and in 2011 won a competition for the design of new school of Engineering (UTEC) in Lima, Peru. The practice was awarded the Silver Lion at the Venice Biennale 2012, under the theme Common Ground where the practice explored the work of Paulo Mendes de Rocha in the context of its own parallel examination of it’s work for UTEC university in Peru.
